About Us

The WHC was developed in 2005 by Dr. Paul H. Heikkinen. Dr. Paul is co-owner of Heikkinen Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center with his wife, Dr. Marsha K. Heikkinen. Heikkinen Chiropractic was established in 1990, serving Mesquite, Texas and the surrounding communities.

Over the years, many clients at Heikkinen Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center were requesting acupuncture services for weight loss and smoking cessation. To insure the success of their health goals, Dr. Heikkinen put together a diet and exercise program along with the acupuncture treatment. To make the program easier to follow, the group educational process was developed. In the fall of 2005, the first WHC was conducted. Since that time, a new WHC class has been started every three months. These programs have proven to be very successful to say the least. In fact, we have had several graduates enroll in the program a second time due to their satisfaction with the program.
